"I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:20 HCSB

There are things we know deep down. Things that are inherently true in this life. Things like: “God is good,” & “You are never alone.” Those sayings are used so frequently it is easy to forget how TRUE they are!
It was a fall day and something happened. Something that turned my peaceful life upside down! I won’t go into details, but I will say that this event put me on my floor on my knees in prayer while tears ran down my face. The struggle was real and it didn’t end quickly. Each day I prayed and read scripture. It was what got me through when things looked and felt dismal.
One day at the mall I saw it a small gold necklace that said:
“I am with you always” ~ Matthew 28:20
I bought it and put it on in the store. From that day forward, I wore it everyday as I struggled to trust God in the midst of the situation I was facing. A constant reminder that God promised to be with me…even to the end of the age!
Putting the necklace on became a physical way to put on my trust in God. Touching the necklace when I faced fear became a tangible reminder that God was with me. The necklace itself held no power but it became symbolic to me of the power of Christ.
The Bible says that God will turn our sorrow into joy. Going through this tough time taught me that God can turn our fear into joy and our anxiety into peace. We need to give these situations to Him. Therein lies the challenge…letting go of our limited earthly control and giving our lives to the awesome, capable, loving Lord who created us. Therein also lies the JOY!
